2012:

October 27:  For the fifth consecutive year, Rhythm 'n QUE gets a call at the Jack Daniel's World Championship Invitational Barbecue.  We made a bold move and reworked our cooking plan to cook all our competition meats on Kamado Rocket cookers, the very first time we had done so in competition.  The cookers performed perfectly and we won First Place Chicken!  For the full story and more photos, click here.

>> Sept. 15:
Rhythm 'n QUE took top honors at the Chile Pepper Magazine Quest for the Ultimate Rib!  An eclectic eight-judge panel including chefs, restauranteurs and connoisseurs blind-tasted our two-bone rib sections and declared them
Grand Champion.
Details are in the November issue, on newsstands now.

Phoenicians, if you tuned in on Monday, September 3 at 6:50 AM,
you saw RnQ join host Paul Horton at KPHO CBS 5 to talk about some
ribs for your Labor Day cookout.  On the other hand, if you slept in
and didn't set the DVR, you can watch it now!

<< August 31:
Draw Day was particularly fraught
with tension for RnQ, as this year we
had only one bung in the barrel.

As the start of the draw neared,
a shot of Single Barrel was
poured. We wetted the mustaches
of our Mr. Jack trophies that we've
brought home from the Barbecue
over the years, telling them that we
hoped to bring them another brother.  Then, along with all the other teams,
we
anxiously waited through the
seemingly endless hours to hear
the results.

That one bung did its job, though,
and we'll be returning to the Hollow
for our fifth consecutive year at
the Jack!

June 30:  >>
Hitting the road to a new
destination, a lovely venue in
Utah for the 1st Annual Coalville
City BBQ Bash.  That pretty setting
must have agreed with us, as RnQ turned in 6th Chicken, 7th Ribs,
8th Pork, and 3rd Brisket to win

Grand Champion
.

<< June 16:  Taking a break from
the heat in beautiful Williams, AZ.  Little Miss BBQ's Scott and Bekke Holmes are no strangers to standing
as GC, but this was Baby Vivian's
first time on stage!  RnQ turned in
2nd Ribs, 7th Pork, 6th Brisket for

Reserve Grand Champion.
See, we'll do anything to get a
picture with an adorable baby!

RnQ is very proud to be featured in the May/June issue of Chile Pepper Magazine!  Seven pages detail our rib process and some side dishes.
Rick McMillen penned the blushingly complimentary article, and
photographer Rick D'Elia made the food look great in his incredible
photos, so we'll forgive him for the goofy stuff he made us do.  Pick
this issue up at the newsstand, or subscribe at their website!

>> April 7:  Down to Tucson for the Sam's Club National BBQ Tour Local
where RnQ turned in
10th Ribs,
6th Pork, and 3rd Brisket for

Reserve Grand Champion.

We are excited to announce that we will be partnering with
Eggs by the Bay in Santa Clara, CA to teach a class on
"Fundamentals of Championship BBQ"
on April 21.  Northern California should be beautiful then!
This class will be a specific introduction to competing in KCBS
contests, with focus on the four meats, no fluff.
More about the class, early-bird discount, and registration form
on our "Classes" page.  Click here

Rhythm 'n QUE was invited to appear on the KPHO CBS 5 Morning Show with host Paul Horton on Friday, February 3rd! We presented grilling recipes, tips & techniques that folks can use to throw a delicious Super Bowl party. Our segment was scheduled for 5:50am which just goes to show that it's never too early to fire up the grill!
