28: Stoker Nation! >>
Not one, not two, but the THREE top teams at the Silicon
Valley BBQ Championship cooked on WSMs powered by the
Stoker! Son of Smoke took 3rd, Burnin' and Lootin'
was Reserve and placings of 3rd chicken, 3rd ribs and
1st pork put RnQ at Grand
Champion.
And yes, Vince got that 7-foot trophy into the minivan
without having to take it apart!

<< May 3:
After a short turnaround week RnQ rolled back out to
Laughlin, NV for the Smoke on the Water Nevada State
BBQ Championship. Things got a little hot, but
it was hotter in the judging tent as RnQ scored 4th
chicken, 1st ribs (one tenderness point off a 180!),
5th pork and 2nd brisket for a 694.2400 and Grand
Champion. Big
congrats to Royal Smokin' Hot on their first RGC!

April
26: Wild weather in Vegas! >>
Vince and the Stoker kept the WSMs humming through
gusting winds, turning in 4th ribs, 2nd pork and 4th
brisket for a combined score of 685.7140 and Grand
Champion.
This qualified RnQ for the Sam's series National Final
in September in Bentonville, Arkansas!

to Salt Lake City for another Sam's Club local,
because a solid month off without cooking before the
regional made us nervous. We made some
corrections to our cook, and came away with 8th
chicken, 6th ribs, and our
first-ever 180 brisket! That wrapped up
our day as Reserve Grand
Champion. |

March 21:
Time
to shake the >>
rust off and start a new season!
RnQ came out of the gate at the Sam's Club local in
Tucson, AZ, turning in 6th chicken, 8th ribs,
and 2nd brisket for 4th place overall. That was
good enough to allow the team to advance to the next
bracket, the Sam's Club Regional. |
