During RnQ's 2009-season
push to win seven qualifying Grand Championships to earn
us automatic entry to the Jack Daniel's Invitational World
Championship BBQ, naturally the Gentleman was ever-present
in our thoughts. And one summer day when we were
rummaging in the pantry for something to concoct a
libation for guests, we had a bit of an inspiration.
On hand were the ingredients for Arnold Palmers, a
long-time favorite of ours which are half iced tea and
half lemonade. And it so happens that a jigger of
Jack in a tall glass with Arnold Palmer makings and lots
of ice is pure summertime magic. Very refreshing,
goes down cool and easy, right until it kicks you in the
head.
We decided on the spot to call them Jacked-Up Arnies, and
at Salt Lake we found that a coolerful of them makes other
teams very happy on Friday night.
